Box:

In order to have a space where the interviews, napkin and manifesto could exist together, I decided to make a box where all of them could be displayed. One side of the box depended on the size of the napkin, while the others would depend on the thickness of the book (varied with each type of paper I experimented with and how thin / thick it could be bound), and of the napkin.

Several mockups later - I managed to get a size that would work for the chosen paper and string (to bind the booklet).

Napkins: I wanted the napkins to have a certain quality. They needed to be soft enough to be used on one’s face, absorbent to clean any casualties that may happen on the desk and able to clean a screen.

The Interviews:

The interviews played an essential part in the building of the project — but what do I do with them? At first I was reluctant to make a publication with each question and answer, but as the project progressed, this solution made sense. Some statements in the manifesto come directly from the interviews. It’s important to see that the manifesto represents an assortment of people in and out of the field, and that those feelings are shared by many.

Manifesto:

The manifesto is supposed to be a strong statement against the overwhelming power that is the Creative Burnout. The first few drafts seemed very dramatic, bordering with the ridiculous. It was important to me that the manifesto would highlight the importance of the increasing problem and stress the severity of its aftermath.
